The process of loading your own data is a relatively straightforward one. You simply add a CSV with location lat and long titles and any other com separated data you would like and GEO will ingest it.

How to upload data

  1. Go to your chosen event

  2. Click the "Overlay your own data" button

  3. Upload your file

  4. Choose your layer name, your layer type and colour

  5. Press submit and view your data

Considerations

  • The upload will only been seen by the person who uploaded the data if they are using the same browser

  • The data isn't stored by GEO. So If you refresh a page or come out of an event the data does not persist.

  • The latitude and longitude must be in decimal degrees format. e.g. 40.689116, -74.044530

  • The first row in the csv must have the following format:

    • Location, Lat, Long

    • Other headings may also be included and will be imported too

Examples

Example just Lat Log

Location, Lat, Long

Statue of Liberty, 40.689197, -74.044557

Example including custom field

Location, Lat, Long, Condition

Statue of Liberty, 40.689197, -74.044557, Good

Empire State Building, 40.7484, -73.9857, Excellent

This is an example CSV (can be used as a template)
