How to use the Oblique Imagery Viewer

Note: This functionality is available for 94% Of U.S. Population plus, more than 65% of Canada’s four largest provinces: Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia and Alberta.



How to use:

When you're in an event in a supported location you can being using oblique imagery simply by zooming in.



In oblique comparison view its easy to compare pre and post event images

1. What is Oblique Imagery?

Oblique Imagery allows you to see North, East, South, and West perspectives of a selected location, giving you a detailed view of property condition and surrounding context.

2. How do I open the Oblique Imagery Viewer?

Click the Oblique Viewer button in the map toolbar. A sidebar will open automatically displaying the NESW views for the map’s centre point.

3. Why am I not seeing any images

Some areas may be unavailable if imagery coverage is limited in that area, or if you are not zoomed in far enough.

4. Can I expand the images to full screen?

Yes. Click “Expand” on any of the NESW tiles to view a high-resolution, full-screen version of that angle.

5. What is the difference between pre-event and post-event imagery?

Pre-event imagery shows the property before an event, while post-event imagery shows the condition after. When both are available, the viewer highlights them so you can compare changes quickly.

6. How do I compare pre- and post-event imagery

Use the comparison toggle to switch between or overlay pre- and post-event views, helping you assess damage more easily.

7. What should I do if pre- or post-event imagery is missing?

Missing imagery usually means the imagery provider has not captured that area at that time.

8. Can I download the images?

Download availability in not permitted, however please get in touch for access as we will be able to support getting that directly from the provider.

9. Why doesn’t the imagery match exactly with other dated imagery?

Oblique images are angled, not top-down. An address may appear slightly offset due to an camera angle or flight path. The map centre point determines which image is shown.

10. How current is the oblique imagery?

Currency varies by region and provider. Post-event imagery is typically captured shortly after major events; pre-event imagery may be older depending on historical availability.

11. Who can access the Oblique Imagery?

Everyone has access. Claims, exposure, and underwriting teams typically receive access depending on their workflow needs.
