1. To view what each event symbol means:

Click on the Event Brochure at the right-hand side

This details all the different types of events available on GEO, whether a report has been released and the overall severity of that event

  • Severity: Low to High Event Impact

  • Report Released: Whether the event footprint is visible or not for analysis

  • Icons: The different event symbols

2. To enter an event report from the map:

  1. Click on the event icon shown on the map (if recent)

  2. Select ‘View Report’

The world map on the homepage will show only the most recent and ongoing events

3. Using the Scroll bar

a) Use the bar at the bottom to scroll through the most recent and ongoing events.

b) Click the event of interest and this will locate you on the world map to the selected event.

c) Click ‘View Report’ Button.

4. Using the List button:

a) Select the ‘List’ button on the top left-hand side to bring up a list of the most recent events that MIS have released a report for.

b) Click the ‘View Report’ button.

5. Using the Events Button:

a) Click the ‘Events’ button at the top left of the Homepage.

b) Click on the drop-down button of the Search Bar.

Then either:

c) Type in the ‘Search’ the name of the event.

d) Use the ‘Event Type’ filter bar to select the type of event you are searching for. (This will bring up all the events under this type that MIS have released a report on).

e) If you know the date of the event, you can set a date range that you would like to search for events within. Click the ‘From’ and ‘To’ sections of the filter and select the appropriate dates.

f) Once you have located the event(s) of interest, click the ‘View Report’ on the right-hand side to take you into that specific event.

6. Using the Filter Button:

a) Select the magnifying glass button on the left-hand side.

b) Set a date range to search for events within a desired period.

Then either:

  • Type in the name of the event to search by event name.

  • Filter by ‘Event Types’ to search for specific event types.

  • Filter by ‘Report Availability’ to see events that have reports that you can access.

  • Filter by ‘Ongoing only’ to see events that are ongoing.
